The End of Another Day!
The children are in bed and after such a busy day, it feels good to relax with A and reflect on the effects of the current Dana plane crash in Lagos, Nigeria 2 days ago.
I lost my younger sister exactly 10years go in a similar crash in Kano, Nigeria.
People say they know how it feels but tell me,how can you know and understand what you have never experienced? How can you understand when you've never lost a sibling, never saw her body (the bodies were that marred beyond recognition), never got to grow into adulthood with them?
My family have still not recovered from that nightmare but thank God time is a healer and the sadness feels lighter as we remember her with smiles on our faces.
When will Afican leaders change? We complain about How other nations think less of us but what have we done to change these assumptions?
...Nigerians all over the planet are now playing 'the blame game' which unfortunately is human! Curruption is also universal - the only diff being the level. Truth be told the govt are the ones that can make a change! Believe it or not lots of the masses have tried to stand up and do the right thing but where does it leave them? Have you ever wondered how and why the so called planes we have in Naija came to be there? When last did you go to Naija and take a local flight which seems like taking a market passenger vehicle? Who is the aviation minister and what is he doing about this? Who stands to gain in all of this?...even when people who have the good of the people at heart get there, the system doesn't allow them! How many people have tried to go home and make a change? Except the govt put in place a way to tackle and purnish corruption I am afraid things like these are here to stay!...
This is very painful and brings back sad memories. When my children have issues and need my help, I run to their aid. Imagine your children in such a situation and need your help but you are in no position to help them.
ReplyDeleteIt could have been anyone of us on that flight and so we should live our lives being ready for anything.
